Palloja. Balls.

Pitkäksi aikaa jäinkin kiinni pallojen muotoon ja maailmaan; lähes loputon jatkumo pintaa, johon suunnitella ja asentaa mosaiikkia. Rakastan pyöreitä muotoja vieläkin ja aina silloin tällöin teen palloja puutarhan koristukseksi, ihan vain omaksi ilokseni. 

I was left for a long time to catch the balls shape, with almost endless continuum of surface on which to design and install mosaics. I love the smooth curves of the balls, and even every now and then I do garden ornament balls, just for my own pleasure.

Taikapallo sai alkunsa, kun join pihalla kahvia ja ampiainen teki liian läheistä tuttavuutta kanssani. Muki tipahti pihalaatoille ja sain kaunista ainesta mosaiikkipalloon. Pohjana työssä on styroxpallo ja palojen kiinnitysaineena liimamassa.

The Magic Ball began when I drank coffee in the courtyard and the wasp made too close acquaintance with me. The mug dropped on the stone paving and I got some beautiful mosaic material to the ball. The basis for the work is styrox and a transparent adhesive to adhere the pieces to the surface.

Näissä palloissa näkyy olohuoneemme värisävyt. Pallon pohjana on betonipallo ja kiinnitysaineena saneerauslaasti.

These balls are displaying the colours of our living room. The basis for the work is a concrete ball and as an adhesive is a cement-based adhesive.

Keilapallo alkaa lasihelmestä, jonka ympärillä on peililasia. Pallo kasvaa kolmella kerroksella Ottoman-lasimosaiikkia ja loppu pallo koostuu muotoilluista 2 x 2 cm lasimosaiikkipaloista.

The bowling ball starts with a glass bead, which is surrounded by mirror glass. The ball will increase by three layers of Ottoman-glass mosaic and the end of the ball consists of shaped  2 x 2 cm glass mosaic pieces.
